Gagosian announces Persephone, Weatherford's inaugural Asian solo exhibition, which examines light and color through mythological themes aligned with seasonal cycles. The presentation features luminous paintings in vinyl emulsion on linen, with some augmented by colored neon tubes, seashells, or coral. The exhibition draws from Greek mythology where Persephone is stolen from earth to become queen of the underworld; upon her return she presides over springtime renewal....
