On NowAn immersive 35mm installation of unseen Amores Perros footage, creating a sensory mosaic of Mexico City celluloid and sound on the film's 25th anniversary.
From LACMA
This immersive installation celebrates the 25th anniversary of Iñárritu's 2000 film Amores Perros. The work features never-before-seen film fragments — over a million feet of film were left behind on the cutting room during the film's edit — projected through 35mm projectors. The installation presents these archival materials as a mosaic of celluloid and sound bites of Mexico City stripped of narrative context, inviting viewers to explore how many films exist within a film.
