This exhibition examines three celebrated rulers from ancient Egypt's 18th Dynasty (1550–1292 BCE) — Hatshepsut, Amenhotep III, and Akhenaten — who each understood the power of images and used them effectively to advance their agendas. Hatshepsut (r. 1473–1458 BCE) was one of Egypt's rare female pharaohs who established the dynasty's artistic direction through temples and statuary, though her legacy was later erased.
