Occupying a vast former welding hall on the post-industrial island of Refshaleøen, Copenhagen Contemporary is one of Scandinavia's most ambitious venues for large-scale art. The raw industrial space, spanning over 8,000 square metres, is well suited to immersive installations and monumental works by internationally recognised artists. It has become a defining part of Copenhagen's contemporary cultural landscape since opening in 2017.
