Mitchell's exhibition explores spiritual traditions and diasporic connections following her 2022 visit to Brazil's Bahia region. The artist attended the festival of Iemanjá, celebrating the Candomblé orixá, or goddess of the sea, and witnessed religious artworks and participated in processions and offerings.
