Paul Klee

Swiss-German painter and Bauhaus master whose work draws on childlike figuration, musical structure, and a deeply personal symbolic vocabulary to produce a body of work unlike anything else in European modernism. Teaching at both the Bauhaus and Düsseldorf, Klee wrote extensively on colour and form, making him as influential as a teacher as an artist.
