Set in a 1930s teahouse in Kensington Gardens, the Serpentine South Gallery is one of London's most beloved contemporary art spaces, presenting ambitious solo exhibitions by major international artists. It is best known for the annual Serpentine Pavilion commission, which since 1999 has invited a leading architect to design a temporary structure in the surrounding grounds, producing some of the most celebrated experimental architecture of recent decades.
