Ken Price (1935–2012) was an American sculptor and draughtsman celebrated for his biomorphic ceramic works with vibrantly painted, lustrous surfaces. A central figure in the Los Angeles art scene from the 1960s onward, he expanded the possibilities of ceramics across a five-decade career, with major exhibitions at the Whitney Museum, LACMA, the Menil Collection, and the Walker Art Center.
